Diet soda drinkers are fatasses to begin with. That’s why they try drinking diet.

they’re not saying you WILL get fat, they’re saying you’re more likely to get fat.

what would you think weed would do to your health? I dislike drinking lots of alcohol. But I’d rather just smoke some weed and eat some good food.

Hmmmm, I’ve heard all the “dangers” of artificial sweeteners for a long time. However, I’ve drinken aspartame and splenda daily for years and never maxed 120lbs (at 5′2″) and right now I’m at about 110 and in relatively good health. I wish there was a difinitive answer.

I used to drink tons of pepsi max in my teens I’m sure it made me ill. Some stores here have switched from aspratame to Sucralose but both are dangerous I’m never drinking these diet drinks again.

Your comment that no one is going to drink water is a glaring example of the problem. It reflects society’s sickness. Why don’t the masses just drink water? They used to before the greedy corporations brain washed them. What people used to do was squeeze a bit of lemon into their water, way more refreshing. I drink water, don’t I count in the stats?

Aspartame i agree with you.
Splenda i do not. Most of the anti splenda stuff out there has the sugar companies behind them.

hmm.. well I remember a study on tv that I watched about brain tumors and artificial sweeteners but I guess it doesn’t concern me too much since I wouldn’t consume them anyway. And sure some natural things aren’t good to eat, but I’m not so sure that there are any unnatural things that are truly healthy… sure medicines help and things like that but altered foods are usually that way for money not health.

I don’t know about this… I have been doing a lot of research on the subject and have never ran into it (at least outside of the random passing comment). I also don’t always agree with your comment about natural vs unnatural things .. plenty of natural things are dangerous, and plenty of unnatural things are not … you just have to be careful both ways.

It increases your appetite though. You are tricking your brain into thinking that you are drinking something with a lot of calories, but when the calories never come your body is still looking for them.

I like plain water. But I LOST 30 LBS by drinking diet soda replacing sugary juices and soda. I drink water as well. This weight has stayed off for 5 yrs now. Sugar is bad. Addiction…? Not convinced. People who over eat are greedy and out of control. Those people gained weight b/c they OVERATE, not b/c of the sweetener.

I drink only water personally. Sometimes I get carbonated soda water w/out any sugar or artificial sweaters in it. Le Croix rocks.

I am also caffeine free and haven’t an alcoholic beverage in many years.

Water isn’t so bad, it’s actually the only liquid your body needs.

surprise surprise, so whats he saying just drink water, no one is going to do that. I think what he is referring to is someone who is not really dieting and drinks diet soda will drink and eat more sugar. I would like to hear actually what the dr eats and drinks in a days time.

I’ve tried Stevia, and it’s pretty good, once you get used to it. I am a former diet soda addict, pepsi to be exact.

Splenda is so bad for you that it shouldn’t have ever been put on the market. Check out their horrible track record with cruel animal testing. I wouldn’t ever pay a penny for splenda nor use it if it was around on principal alone.

I had a diet Root Beer about 20yrs ago & I was really amazed at how magnified the sweet taste was. It was aspartame..I was impressed & can sure understand why anyone could get addicted if soda is their thing. Mary
